A Blog Collaboration with a Cynic

A Blog Collaboration with a Cynic

Last weekend I met up with long time pal and fellow hummus lover Georgina Phipps, blogger at A Cynic’s 2013 Challenge.

At the start of 2013, Miss Phipps decided to set herself a challenge: an attempt to do one new thing, every week, for one whole year.

So far she has learnt to play the Ukulele, tried Wakeboarding, learnt Arabic, and climbed Ben Nevis.

This is a woman with no fear.

Until that is, she faced her latest challenge…

HYDE PARK in fact – one of the largest parks in central London – and home to the famous oratory ground SPEAKERS CORNER.

Georgina decided her challenge would be to hop along to Speakers’ Corner and deliver a speech.

A speech that would rival the likes of Martin Luther King in its deliverance.

A speech that would strike deep into the heart of whoever tuned in to listen to it.

A speech that would invite critical praise, rather than critical criticism.

A speech about…

…the economic, political and social discrimination of single people.

And so it was that one windy Saturday morning, we ventured into London town – me armed with my camera, Miss Phipps armed with her notebook – and took Hyde Park by storm.

The result: a riveting speech, a surprising number of spectators, and a round of applause.

Oh and the above video clip.

Hear hear!

Seriously Brave of Her! I’ve done door to door canvassing & outreach In public places; handing out flyers and talking to people but that was all on a more one on one level, A public speech is another thing And I don’t know that I’m ready for that but maybe just doing it like her is the best way to learn, and I have to say I Identify with the point of her topic as a single person too! much Respect to her
