July Favourites

July Favourites

July has whizzed by and the summer holidays are officially upon us. The UK has seen some fabulous weather and I’ve seen some fabulously burnt red noses out and about. I do love a good tan but it’s so important to protect your skin. My July favourites include some really nice products to use on hot days whether you’re out in your garden or at the beach. So let’s dive in.

Moisturise and Protect

If you are looking for a lightweight moisturiser with SPF look no further than the La Roche-Posay Hydraphase UV Protective Care with SPF 20. It feels so light on the skin and provides long-lasting hydration. My husband rarely wears suncream and refuses to wear my factor 50’s on his face. But after I pointed out his deepening frown lines he reluctantly tried this product…and I haven’t seen it since.

Tan don’t Burn

Piz Buin is my go to suncream for my body. I find the sprays very easy to apply and the products don’t have that overpowering coconut smell that a lot of suncreams have. I tend to start off my holidays wearing a high factor and then gradually come down as I realise I only have a few days left and my legs are still pale! (Obviously this is not recommended and you should protect yourself at all times but who I am to preach!) I often use the Tan Accelerating Oil on my legs and you can choose a lower or higher SPF depending on what level of protection you want. The idea behind the spray is that it contains melitan which naturally helps your tan to develop.

Snap Happy

A few years ago I purchased the Fujifilm FinePix XP30 Digital Camera. It’s completely waterproof and comes out to play every summer. The quality isn’t the best I’ll admit but there is a newer model on the market – the Fujifilm FinePix XP120 yellow.Back in it’s day it was a fine camera and I’ve got lots of underwater holiday videos that I’ll treasure forever. Great fun.

Fresh and Clean

After a hot day or when coming back from the beach I love nothing more than to get in the shower and scrub away. The Molton Brown Eucalyptus Body Wash is so refreshing and leaves you with that really clean totally fresh smell. Molten Brown aren’t cheap but they have such lovely bath and shower products that your skin will definitely thank you after taking a beating in the hot sun.

Go Coco

A trip abroad also means a trip to the Duty Free perfume counter. I have tried several perfumes over the years but if I had to name my one favourite scent it would always be CHANEL. I recently bought the Chanel Coco Eau de Parfum Spray and it is just pure class. I have had the pure parfum before but the eau de parfum smells just as nice and is much cheaper (though still expensive). Just a few sprays lasts me all night and adds that touch of elegance to any outfit.
