As the year draws to a close, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has continued to follow my website/blog over the past year (and previous years) and subscribed to my blog posts. And particular thanks to those who have left comments and interacted with me. Writing content for my website has brought me both creative fulfilment and helped me to promote my own work, as well as allowing me to connect with lots of wonderful readers.
At one stage I would post articles almost weekly, but as time has gone on, ‘blogging’ is no longer something I can keep up with. My website now mainly serves as a platform for my work and when I do publish a blog post, it is either to discuss a topic that is related to my writing/books in some way, or to alert anyone interested to a new project that I have launched. Gone are the days when I would research a topic in detail and include links and interesting facts. Unfortunately, the ‘offended’ mob have sucked the life out of many opinion pieces, and my website is meant to be a calm space for anyone interested in books, education and Greek culture. One also has to tread very carefully over associate links, images and so on, which makes creating written content quite stressful these days!
So, I have decided not to publish any more blog posts for the foreseeable future. Instead, I shall return to something I tried a while back but never really got off the ground: a monthly newsletter.
Stay with me people.
A newsletter will allow me to share any news with you in one short sharp burst. It will include any new books or publications, links to my Pandorus Publishing notebooks and planners and my Etsy printables store, a ‘What I’m reading this month‘ section (so we can continue our book recommendations!), and anything else related to writing, education (and a little bit of Greek culture) that might be of interest for that particular month.
I think that this will be the best way for me to continue to connect with followers and also to bring all my social media platforms together in one place. For example, I might include my latest YouTube video in the newsletter or a link to an educational website that I have found useful, or include a picture from my Instagram. If someone follows my blog but doesn’t necessarily follow other social platforms, they will be able to access the social media information in the newsletter instead. Simples!
