Greeks in the Windy City

Us Greeks can be found in every corner of the world and we are proud to affiliate ourselves with Hellenic organisations from both sides of the pond. Today the GWC would like to introduce our friends over at WindyCity Greek – a Chicago-based publication created to reconnect the Greek community, restore our pride, and bring us hope for the future.

WindyCity Greek is designed to bring you all the positive, innovative, and exciting things happening with Hellenes in Chicago, and across the world, serving as a clearinghouse for inspiring news, as well as a connection to Greek-owned businesses, products, and services.  Maria A. Karamitsos

Previously Associate Editor and Senior Writer for The Greek Star newspaper and a longtime contributor to GreekCircle magazine, founder Maria A. Karamitsos launched WindyCity Greek to share her love for her Greek heritage and culture. With a father hailing from Pyrgos, Ilias and a Greek-American mother from Chicago, Maria grew up in the quintessential Greek diner, learning many important life lessons from the kitchen and behind the counter.

Her philosophy has always been one of positivity and collaboration and she has channelled that experience, philosophy, and passion for all things Greek into the WindyCity Greek. Featuring a business directory, a Greek news section, advertising space and a wealth of information on the Greek entertainment, travel and lifestyle front, WindyCity Greek is the perfect publication to help people reconnect and find out more about the Greek culture both in Chicago and around the world.
